A few weeks ago I had to go through the exhausting process of moving to a new house. At first I had the misconception that it will take 2-3 days, but then I discovered that the hoards of endless items that "mysteriously" showed up, came up with a different schedule, not to mention rebuilding the electricity system, the plumbing, and fighting tons of piles of soil which were scattered all over the roof and I had to turn it into a beautiful garden, planting trees, rebuilding the watering system etc. While I was running this operation, a strange feeling took over me. I was unrest, and exhausted, as though I was cut out of my power supply. someone or something pulled the plug!!! When I finally came back to the workshop, I sat down and pondered about my next project. I've decided that it should be something about renewal, about connecting back to the source. I wanted to create a powerful piece with a sacred symbol that will reconnect everyone to the source of everything. So while I went over my email list I've noticed I received a design request from Mr. Chester Chen for a Vesica Pisces bracelet. Great Idea. It is the sacred symbol of creation. It is the blueprint for everything. I will do it! Then it happened, while I was sitting at the workbench, carving and turning this symbol and this design into something tangible I felt alive again, as though someone reconnected the power supply. I was back. The detachment from the source of creativity, from what I am; caused all these problems, and, indeed the Vesica Pisces is the perfect remedy. What really stunned me was the fact that though it was unnoticeable for me I actually finished the design exactly on the day and the hour of the Summer Equinox so it wasn't only a powerful symbol of "The Source" but also a real cosmic talisman! The structure in this bracelet is known as the Vesica Pisces or the first day of creation. It is a symbol of the infinite consciousness which is in all of us, learning and experiencing itself through creation. This simple structure consists of two intersecting circles, by which one can extract all of the geometrical and mathematical laws that represent our reality.
It is an ancient symbol of knowledge, wisdom and love.
The two winged images are called the Cherubim and represent the male and female and the perfect balance between the two forces composing reality. The Cherubim were found upon sacred artifacts in ancient Egypt and of course the Ark of Covenant. The Vesica Pisces sketches were also found in ancient Egypt with ancient Greek writings which indicate that it was probably made by disciples of Pythagoras the ancient philosopher who used these mathematical/geometrical structures as the building blocks of reality, harmony and music.
In ancient Egypt, the Lotus flower (on both side of the bracelet) was used in many religious rituals probably of the mild psychoactive properties of this plant (the Blue lotus of the Nile-Nymphaea caerulea, also known as the Blue Egyptian water lily or sacred blue lily, is a water-lily native to Egypt). The Egyptian Lotus symbol was used as a symbol of the Sun and the afterlife since it's flower buds rise to the surface of the water over a period of 2-3 days and when ready open in the morning and then close in the afternoon.
The beautiful Lotus flower was also depicted as the original container from which Atom, the god of creation or the creator himself came into existence. Atum was considered to be the first god, having created himself, sitting on a mound from the primordial waters. Atum is the god of pre-existence and post-existence. In the binary solar cycle, the serpentine Atum is contrasted with the ram-headed scarab Khepri - the young sun god, whose name is derived from the Egyptian hpr "to come into existence". Khepri-Atum encompassed sunrise and sunset, thus reflecting the entire solar cycle.
Atum was a self-created deity, the first being to emerge from the darkness and endless watery abyss that girdled the world before creation. A product of the energy and matter contained in this chaos.
