Sometime ago I created the Sphere of Consciousness pendant which was based on the philosophical, spiritual ingenious concepts of Buckminster Fuller with his understanding of the Geodesic dome. I still remember the first thing that came to my mind when I first saw this structure. I thought that this is “consciousness”. I had no idea why this structure represented to me the concept of “consciousness” and as a matter of fact, I completely forgot that this thought had ever come to my mind.When you study this structure and you realize that this molecular structure is part of the basic structures of every living being here on Earth you come to the realization and understanding that we are actually the universe itself learning and experiencing itself. Every atom in our body was created in the furnaces of long gone supernovas in the far regions of space.

Buckminster Fuller came up with all these brilliant concepts after a spiritual experience and a direct contact with the divine cosmic consciousness. As a result of this experience, Fuller came up later on with the brilliant understanding and concept of what he called Synergistic or the study of systems in transformation, with an emphasis on total system behavior unpredictable by the behavior of any isolated components, including humanity's role as both participant and observer.

He believed that everything can be found in the structure of the Cuboctahedron which he called The Vector equilibrium. I designed this pendant as a stellated cuboctahedron in order to emphasize the endless change and different perspective that can be seen by looking at this structure from different angles and it's connection to the Platonic Solids - the building blocks of our reality. Fuller actually called it the "Wellspring of Reality" and in his own words "The integration of geometry and philosophy in a single conceptual system providing a common language and accounting for both the physical and metaphysical.

With all vectors being exactly the same length and angular relationship, from an energetic perspective, the VE represents the ultimate and perfect condition wherein the movement of energy comes to a state of absolute equilibrium, and therefore absolute stillness and nothingness. As Fuller states: "Because of this it is the zero-phase from which all other forms emerge. The vector equilibrium is the zero starting point for happenings or nonhappenings. The Geodesic Dome as well as the Cuboctahedron/ Vector Equilibrium is the ultimate symbol in my humble opinion of Alchemy in the spiritual sense. For all of you out there who are into crystal and minerals, take a look at the crystallization process of Fluorite. The Fluorite crystals actually change it's structure from an Octahedron to a Cube - a living cuboctahedron...
