The Tibetan hung is one of the most well known Tibetan symbols and is a part of the ancient Tibetan mantra - "Om Mani Padme Hum" or "Om Mani Padme Hung".  According to the Tibetans, the Buddha's instructions for enlightenment are concealed inside this mantra.

The "Om Mani Padme Hung" mantra helps us to detach ourselves from the illusion of the words and the sounds that surround us. It helps us to see the words for what they really are; empty.
